We have had several new additions to our team of international lawyers recently. In the following months, we will be strengthening our team even further by adding new debt recovery lawyers form various European countries. A few weeks ago, we introduced you to our Swedish colleague Erik Rosqvist. In this post, we would like to introduce you to Guan Wang, who will be responsible for debt recovery in China.

“I was born and raised in China, where I studied at the Heibei University of Science and Technology. I graduated from law school in 2013, and worked, among other places, at the Court of Qing Huangdao.” In 2015, Guan Wang moved to the Netherlands: “International Business Law is my passion. Therefore, I wanted to enrol in the Master’s programme for International Business Law at the Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam.” Once Guan Wang obtained his Master’s degree, he started working at our company. “The international make-up of Bierens really suits me, and I feel proud to be part of this great team of international lawyers that we have at Bierens.”

Guan Wang will be responsible for debt recovery in the Chinese market. Debt recovery in China drastically differ from debt recovery matters in European countries. As Guan Wang notes: “Besides the cultural and linguistic barriers, the legal system in China poses challenges as well.” Fortunately, Guan Wang has extensive knowledge of and expertise with the Chinese culture and legal system. Next to that, he speaks both English and Mandarin, which is extremely helpful when dealing with non-paying debtors in China.
