Expansion of International Practice: Lawyer Maria Marquezini Cara
Our international practice is growing fast. More and more companies are dealing with international direct debits. There is also increasing demand for international debt collection specialists. In recent months, we have therefore strengthened our international team with debt collection lawyers and specialists from various countries. Since the autumn of 2017, the Brazilian lawyer Maria Marquezini Cara is part of our international team. Maria handles business in Portugal and Brazil.
Very talented
Maria Marquezini Cara grew up in Brazil and studied law at the university of Sao Paulo. After she finished her studies, she came to the Netherlands. Maria could participate in the ‘Orange Tulip Scholarship’. This is a scholarship that gives very talented students the opportunity to study n the Netherlands. Maria studied ‘International and European Law’ with a specialization in ‘European Law Advanced’ at the University of Nijmegen.

Due to an exchange program with Germany, it quickly became clear to Maria that she wanted to work in an international environment. After completing her Masters in Law, she therefore joined the Portuguese desk at Bierens. Our Portuguese desk has experienced a substantial growth in the past year. We are therefore happy to welcome Maria in our international team.
