1952
In 1952, ‘Bierens Advocaten’ was established, which provided the foundation for what is now Bierens Debt Recovery Lawyers. The business was formed by Frits Bierens, father of the current owner, Sander Bierens. In those days, clients received assistance with miscellaneous legal matters, such as landlord and tenant law, construction law, traffic, labour law, real estate, bankruptcy and divorce. But debt recovery matters were also already frequently dealt with in those days. At that time, these were still written by hand in a special debt recovery copy book.
1980
Frits Bierens’ motives are still an inspiration to the current firm. Frits Bierens had integrity, and he was a man with a strongly developed sense of justice. In addition, he had the desire to win and be the best. This was not without results, because in 1980, there was already good cause for celebration. The district of ’s-Hertogenbosch had carried out an anonymous investigation among all law firms in the district. Frits Bierens’ firm turned out to be the most profitable firm!
1985
In 1985, Sander Bierens graduated from law school. Shortly after, Sander was sworn in as a lawyer and started work at his father’s firm. After his entry into the firm, Sander assisted the firms’ clients with a variety of cases. When the first debt recovery matter was put on his desk, the entrepreneur in Sander was awakened. Quite quickly, he realised that his passion and strength lay with debt recovery.
1995
In 1995, Sander Bierens took over the business from his father, and the quest for justice was continued. As his strength and passion were, and still are, with debt recovery, Sander decided in 2000 to specialise solely in these matters. This made Bierens Debt Recovery Lawyers the first debt recovery law firm in the Netherlands.
2005
Office Veghel
Although Bierens Debt Recovery Lawyers initially focused on the Dutch market, it soon became evident that these issues were shared by a wide range of international businesses. That is why in 2005, Bierens also expanded its expertise to include international debt recovery. Currently, the team includes lawyers from England, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Poland, Portugal, Greece and Romania, among others.
2007
Office Amsterdam
At Bierens Debt Recovery Lawyers, the desire to win resulted in rapid growth. The offices at our HQ in Veghel became too small, so a branch in Amsterdam was opened in 2007. But that was not all. Subsequently, Bierens Debt Recovery Lawyers opened offices in Düsseldorf, Antwerp, Barcelona, New York and Shanghai. More recently, in 2015, an office was opened in Rome.
